From Adiyogi to Sadhguru

The roots of Hatha Yoga run deep into the history of humanity. Around 15,000 years ago, a being appeared—his wisdom and knowledge beyond compare—Adiyogi, the first yogi. In the remote regions of the Himalayas, he transmitted his profound yogic knowledge to a group of seven disciples. These sages, known as the Saptarishis, carried this knowledge to different parts of the world. Adiyogi opened up 112 pathways through which human beings could realize their ultimate potential, laying the foundation for all forms of yoga—including Hatha Yoga.
Hatha Yoga is one of the oldest and most comprehensive yogic systems, developed to bring the body and mind into a state of balance and alignment. It aims to harmonize the physical, mental, and energetic dimensions of the human being, making higher states of consciousness accessible. This ancient science was passed down through generations and, in modern times, has reemerged—thanks to Sadhguru.
Sadhguru is a spiritual master, yogi, and visionary from India, and the founder of the Isha Foundation. He has inspired millions around the world through his unique ability to bridge the ancient wisdom of yoga with the challenges of contemporary life. For Sadhguru, yoga is not merely a physical discipline but a profound science that can transform every aspect of the human being—body, mind, emotions, and energy.
Through his lifelong pursuit of self-realization and his unwavering commitment to sharing this knowledge, Sadhguru has made it his mission to preserve and transmit the purest form of yoga. To him, yoga is neither a belief system nor a philosophy—it is a tool to expand human potential.
Who is Sadhguru?

Why is Sadhguru bringing traditional Hatha Yoga to the world?

Sadhguru offers Hatha Yoga in its most authentic form, enabling people across the world to experience deep inner transformation. At a time when yoga is often reduced to physical fitness, he is committed to restoring its original essence. Hatha Yoga, as taught by Sadhguru, is not just a set of exercises—it is a precise and scientific method to cleanse and realign the human system.
Through these practices, one can balance the body’s energy centers—known as chakras—sharpen the mind, and dissolve physical and emotional blocks. Hatha Yoga is a powerful tool to bring clarity, vitality, and joy into one’s life. Sadhguru shares these practices because he believes in their ability to enrich every human life and to reconnect people with themselves and the world around them.
Hatha Yoga is part of an unbroken tradition that has been passed down for thousands of years. Today, we are fortunate to access this profound practice in its full depth—thanks to Sadhguru’s dedication to making classical yoga available to all.
My name is Anca, and in 2023, I had the great privilege of being trained as a classical Hatha Yoga teacher at the Isha Yoga Center in India. This intense and transformative program included over 1,750 hours of yoga, guided by the profound teachings of Sadhguru.
But how did I even come across Sadhguru—this teacher who changed my life so deeply?
It all began unexpectedly. During a particularly challenging time in my life, I stumbled across a livestream on YouTube—a Satsang with Sadhguru. I wasn’t actively looking for answers, yet his words struck a deep chord within me.
Sadhguru spoke about inner transformation. One sentence stayed with me:
“The outside will never happen exactly the way you want it to. But how you are within yourself is entirely up to you.”
This simple yet powerful truth helped me realize that real change begins within. That realization led me to participate in the Inner Engineering program, which brought a deep sense of calm—and sparked a longing for more.
Without much hesitation, I decided to travel to India for the first time to take part in the 8-month Sadhanapada program. The focus was on yoga and inner reflection. There, a Hatha Yoga teacher taught Angamardana with such humility and care that it deeply moved me. It became clear to me that I wanted to walk this path myself.
Today, I feel grateful to share this ancient knowledge with others and to support people on their journey toward greater clarity, inner peace, and physical well-being.
How do I fit in?
